Red Racer
Starting in 1983 we produced a series of unique wine labels depicting various bicycle themes celebrating the Nevada City Classic. The first label, now a wine label collector’s item, remains unique because it was the first California wine label to offer humorous puns on the label with phrases like “a racy little wine to be pedaled in Nevada City” and “Wine bottles can be recycled”.
For only the second time in the history of the Bicycle Series we are bottling a red wine we're calling Red Racer. It is a fruit forward, medium-full bodied blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Cabernet Franc. Local photographic artist Dave McClellan created the artwork and produced the labels. We expect the wines will be ready and available for sale early in April. Watch for details here or contact us directly to reserve yours.

Red Racer Wine Information
It’s the perfect trifecta for Nevada City. It’s the 50th anniversary of the Nevada City Classic Bicycle Race. It’s the 30th anniversary of Nevada City Winery. It’s the first anniversary of Nevada City’s participation in the Amgen Tour Of California Bicycle Race.
To commemorate these events we’ve decided to resurrect the Bicycle Wine label series.
