I moved to Nevada County in 1973 and quickly fell in love with its charm and community spirit. For nearly two decades, I’ve been proud to serve as both an employee and volunteer at Nevada City Winery.
Outside of the winery, I ran my own mortgage business for 30 years—a venture I shared with my late husband, Red Burke. Growing up in an Italian family, wine has always been woven into my life. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to experience every stage of winemaking, from crush to glass.
My time at Nevada City Winery has also given me the chance to explore the business side of the operation—managing the tasting room, wine club, large events, and wholesale distribution. I feel truly fortunate to live in such a beautiful place and to be part of the oldest operating winery in Nevada County.
