ABOUT THE SHOW
“Timeless Inspirations: Poetic Persian Music- Reflections in Art”, is a group art exhibit resulting from an intimate collaboration between Marjan Vahdat’s profoundly sensitive poetry-imbued Persian music, and the work of local and regional visual artists.
Artists were given a wide-open invitation to create artwork, inspired by Marjan’s music. The artists’ approaches of course were varied, some included conversations with Marjan, or just silently absorbing the music, or researching everything from topography, her culture, and history to 13th - 19th century Persian poets. All the while, Marjan’s timeless velvet voice serenaded the artists and influenced their art.
This collaboration between art, poetry, and exquisite music not only made for an enriching exchange but also a vast range of stunning interpretative artworks.
