Just in time for the 58th Annual Nevada City Bicycle Classic

 

If you are into bicycling, vintage bicycle posters, the Annual Nevada City Bicycle Classic, or simply love Nevada City Wines then these posters are for you. 

These modern-vintage cycling images are a visual celebration of the rich history between Nevada City Winery and the Nevada City Bicycle Classic.

 

From 1986 to 1992, Nevada City Winery produced a wine specifically for the Annual Bicycle Classic. The wine labels were custom designed by Artist Will Ashford and then printed as collectible posters.  Of the original set we have five still in inventory which includes four by Will Ashford and one, not designed by him, but designed specifically for the 50th Anniversary of the Bicycle Classic celebrated 2010. 

 

Artist Will Ashford received international recognition in 1979 for his Mona Lisa "geoglyph," which is a large image or design produced on the ground by natural landscape.  With the use of fertilizer, Ashford made a giant Mona Lisa appear on a grassy hillside off I-680 in Alamo.  Unfortunately, just last year, a portion of Ashford history was lost when the Calistoga fire destroyed his home and many years’ of his work.  We are honored to be a part of Will Ashford’s history and are excited to be able to offer you access to these collectible posters.
